Since 2015, the Hochkönigman, Austria's most popular trail running event, has been organized by B-TRAIL.Events, and we believe it's time for the Hochkönigman to move with the times. After 10 years of the Hochkönigman, with gratitude in our hearts and humility before the experiences, we look forward to 10 years with a new name, "Hochkönigkrone," a new logo, and a new motto.

After many years of heralding the start of the summer season, we're now bidding farewell to the summer season in the Hochkönig region with our new date starting in 2026. As befits Thanksgiving, we'll be giving thanks with our usual festival atmosphere for an eventful, successful, and hopefully injury-free past season.

We look forward to welcoming many passionate and fun-loving trail runners, skyrunners, and vertical enthusiasts to Maria Alm. In addition to our tried-and-tested concepts and routes, we are bringing the Hochkönig region full circle with the Hochkönigkrone and additional expansion of routes and ideas.

The Hochkönigkrone event area will be relocated closer to nature, to the Abergbahn cable car, with a larger event area, significantly more parking space, a unique start on the ski bridge, and a fantastic finish in the Hochkönigkrone event tent. The start and finish lines will be close to nature, and the entire region, including Mühlbach and Dienten, will be integrated with new races.

Brand new from 2026, the Vertical Race, part of the Vertikal Austria Series, will kick off the Hochkönigkrone weekend in Mühlbach with 4.6km and 980+ elevation gain. The K3 Panorama Trail will also be a true Panorama Trail. Starting in Dienten and measuring 29.2km and 1630+ elevation gain, the Panorama Trail follows the route of the Marathon Trail and Endurance Trail along the long Almengrad, offering a full view of the Hochkönigkrone Panorama, the Hochkönig, the Großglockner, and Austria's highest mountains.
The variety of routes, from the Kids Trail, Easy Trail over 9km and the technical Skyrace to the Endurance Trail with 84km for adventure-hungry runners, is complemented by an emotional finish at the event site with acrobats, fire-eaters, a light show, drummers and a fantastic time together with the Hochkönigkrone motto "love around the trails".
