Marathon Trail
For those with more endurance, the Marathon Trail awaits with just under 49.9km and 2,961+ elevation gain. The route continues past the Prinzensee lake and the first climb of 400+ elevation gain to Hinterthal, offering beautiful single trails and a rapid downhill to the first refreshment point. Before the second refreshment point in Dienten, there is still the climb to the Pichlalm, the crossing of the Filzensattel, and an alpine downhill to be conquered. After a warm-up phase of 21km and around 1,400+ elevation gain, the next climb of around 1,200+ elevation gain awaits the runners, up to the Klingspitze and to the Statzerhaus. A magnificent panorama on one of the longest gradual runs across wonderful alpine pastures will put a broad grin on every runner's face despite the exertion. Continuing along the panoramic route with its far-reaching views, the downhill to Maria Alm is slowed down by short, steep climbs, while the Marathon Trail tries to drain the participants' last ounces of energy.
